The Building Descending the Stairs project by Stefano Pujatti (ELASTICOFarm) is in Lido di Jesolo, a tourist seaside town close to Venice, Italy. The floors of the residential building are arranged in an arc above numerous pillars, creating space intended for meeting and socializing.
Common and private areas are combined in an elaborate system of balconies that involve all the floors. The building stands about 490 feet from the beach. It was completed in 2021and has commercial establishments on ground level and 8 floors of residential units
The apartments have an open and partially covered area of approximately 21,500 sf for amenities—also raised above the street noise and organized to promote socialization between the neighbors. The walkways are supported by a structural system that uses the supporting walls of the residential block to hang a lighter structure made up of metal beams.
