I (enjoyed) the fun facts (TrueDat) article Juan Sebastian Elcano (Not Magellan) Was the First Person To Sail Around The World. And, as a word puzzler, I love the 2 words that contain all the vowels in order. One thing I wanted to mention though, is the reference to bottle caps not being recyclable. The truth is, the plastic used to make bottle caps is actually valuable, and most MRFs have the infrastructure to process those as long as they are recycled on the bottles.

The several pieces about England and the Commonwealth in You Need (or might want) To Know were bloody really informative, even for a Brit, like me. And, for sure, the next time I visit ‘home,’ I look forward to going to the smashing wonderful ABBA Arena! Cheers!

The article about and the pictures of The Line in Saudi Arabia were absolutely (as you say in the article) astounding!! And a robot-citizen?? Wow! I mean, WOW!! I absolutely love that I see/learn things in the network that I would otherwise never know about

WOW!!! That (the Important Voices column) looks amazing! What a great way to showcase the letter and highlight the members of Congress!

I am enjoying the series about UNESCO World Heritage Sites – particularly since I’m still hesitant to travel oversea because of Covid. I can’t afford to get ‘trapped’ somewhere if restrictions are suddenly reimposed. Regardless, most of these are places I would probably not visit anyway, so it’s interesting to learn about them.

Roxana Tofan’s article The War Next Door was absolutely — warm, heartfelt, touching and so REAL! With all of the stories in the newspaper and on TV, I have not seen anything like this. It is absolutely wonderful!

Your You Need (Or Might Want) To Know feature always has something interesting and—at least for me—information. I’d never heard of The Doomsday Vault or Doxing before, nor did I know about the relationship between geographic elevation and temperature. Great stuff! Keep it coming!

The vertical one liners in the inside of the pages are so funny! Some favorites:
‘The teacher said that that “that” that that girl used in a sentence was correct.’
‘Three of my favorite things are eating my family and not using commas.’
‘Before was was was, was was is.’ Where do you find these????

The excerpts from Matthew McConaughey’s speech really moved me. What happened in Uvalde was absolutely horrific, but it’s wonderful to see a public figure speak so reasonably about gun control. I wish he was running for Governor.

I had never heard of Recycle Across America before – and I found the interview with its Executive Director (Ms. Hedlund) very interesting. Recycling is such an important thing—and it really requires so little effort. I’m going to make it a point to learn more and spread the word.

The (July-August) contest (Official Baby Boomers Qualifying Exam was fun. That I found it so easy is proof, I guess, that I really am a baby boomer. And the Generational Chart that accompanied the Millennials Driving the Real Estate Market article reminded me of just how long ago I came of age. Yikes!

I want to apologize for __________’s ultra-politically correct stance (in her letter to the editor which appeared in the _______ issue. To reiterate her comment, “This is ______ if you haven’t noticed.” As a fellow real estate professional, let me assure you that I don’t perceive your publication as offensive. Rather, I think anyone who feels that their profession could be somehow diminished by a joke in a trade magazine may be insecure about their line of work. For someone to be so offended that they bothered to take the time to reach out to their local chapter of CREW is a sure sign that their career is not going as well as it should be. I would offer this advice to (those) who take offense to everything. You have two choices when you wake up each day: Make the world a better place, leading by example OR complain about the way things are. It’s that simple. All that energy you waste worrying about how life isn’t fair could be directed into being a productive member of society. (This year) is a fresh start. Let’s see if I can practice what I preach.

The Contest (Where’s That School?) was very timely in this issue with March Madness going on. Why wasn’t Villanova on the list? (Just kidding. It was fun. Hope I win!)

On the same day as I get a new issue, when I get home and sit down with a glass of wine, I go right to the Diversions — both to bring a smile and to help me relax. And in this issue, you had the Banished Words List and the Wayne State Word Warriors — more fun and informative pieces. Thank you!

It isn’t that the articles and humor in the magazine aren’t great—because they are—but the covers and the Artchitecture pages just blow me away!

I am working my way through the magazine, and I'm really enjoying it. (I) got a little teared up with the old-time telephone operator story (in the Editor’s Note) and the Coffee Break Festival in my town (in True Dat).

I particularly enjoy the features Real Estate of the Future and Wow Factor(s) – but there is so much there! I may not read every word of every article, but I do at least look at every page (so I don’t miss any of the Vertical Lines). By the way, I just order the book.

I was in a real estate office the other day and I saw the July-August issue of the Network on the reception area table. Thumbing through it, I came upon a marvelous piece with a long list of great fiction first liners. I was absolutely enthralled, particularly because I had read several of these books. You are absolutely right about how that one sentence can pull you in and make you want to read more. In fact, it made me want to read more of the Network, so I got the app, and I am very much enjoying paging through the archives. An extremely enjoyable publication!
